Sara Lahdelma
Sara Lahdelma works at BSAG as a planner of communications and stakeholder engagement.
Sara performs a variety of communication tasks at BSAG, from planning to content productioncreation. Her strengths include understanding and condensing complex ideas into easily comprehensible forms. Curiosity, a desire to learn, and a willingness to embrace new challenges drive Sara forward in both her work and personal life.
As a linguist passionate about languages, cultures, and sustainability, she is interested in the relationships between language and society, as well as the power intertwined with them:
“Language not only describes but also continually shapes our world!”
Sara’s desire to act for a better world has brought her to BSAG. She believes that the foundation’s work beautifully combines collaboration and action, which she sees as crucial factors in addressing the climate crisis and biodiversity loss shaking our world.
“The accelerating ecological crisis is a wicked problem that requires massive changes at all levels of society, spanning across sectors. The Baltic Sea is a concrete target, and actions aimed at saving it will trigger a positive chain reaction that mitigates climate change and slows down biodiversity loss.”
Sara spent her childhood summers sailing in the Archipelago Sea and now dreams of owning her own sailboat and returning to her childhood landscapes. Until then, she finds peace in climbing, wandering in nearby forests, and ice swimming — where else but in the Baltic Sea.
