Concept has started with joint analysis of the current maritime communication system challenges. Detailed implementation plans are currently under development.

IBM Finland shares the concern for the future of the Baltic Sea and commits to work together with The Baltic Sea Action Group and the Finnish Maritime Administration to make the Baltic Sea smarter. The goal of the joint cooperation is to improve maritime safety by integrating Automatic Identification System (AIS) with standard workstation technologies. Enhanced maritime communication between vessels and local authorities will improve the efficiency of communication and safety in the Baltic Sea.
