A course for Finnish Navy conscripts concerning the Baltic Sea

Description:

The Finnish Navy will start a new course for Navy conscripts concerning the Baltic Sea.

The purpose of the course is to increase the knowledge of the Baltic Sea environmental issues and give a picture of how a Navy soldier can do his part of environmental protection.

The course is divided in to four parts:
1. Basic knowledge concerning the Baltic Sea
2. Knowledge concerning the Baltic Sea as a traffic route
3. Environmental threats towards the Baltic Sea
4. Naval soldier’s measures of the Baltic Sea environmental protection

The course will begin in January 2011 and it will take place in the basic training period in the beginning of the service.

Objective:
Raising Finnish Navy conscript’s awareness of measures of the Baltic Sea environmental protection.
